The Great Profiler for Fourdrinier
The Great Profiler for the Fourdrinier can be supplied with either remote or manual controls. More than 40 have been installed since 1978. Wells Enterprises does not have the expertise or capability to supply automatic control but the 0 - 15 psi air signal to the actuators and performance is similar to competitive steam showers.
Unique Features of the Great Profiler:
Patented technology developed over fifteen years by Roger Wells and his “Steam Applications Section” of Weyerhaeuser’s Research Department.
Transparent Lazy Steam discharges to the sheet with no noise, low velocity and essentially pressure so there is NO disruption of the sheet and NO excess fog escaping into the machine room. There is no dripping and no need for condensate drains. Only a single 4” or 6” diameter steam line is required for hookup and a 1” air line for the lift cylinders.
The full machine direction width of the Great Profiler is used for profiling. There is no "preheat" section or “air wipe”. The compartment walls come right to the bottom of the box so there is reduced “coupling” or CD migration of steam.
Dependable custom designed Marsh Bellofram actuators on the remote model are not subject to overheating due to the use of superheated steam.
The manually controlled Great Profiler is adjusted via 1/4-in threaded pull rods from the tending side of the machine. It is perfect for stable market pulp machines making bales and requires no maintenance.
The steam distribution header of the Great Profiler is retractable and easily inspected or replaced on site.
